Don Wilburn Jr. is an international award-winning author working on a series of contemporary adult science fiction books titled The God Protocol, with themes of Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Genetic Engineering, Consciousness, and Archaeology. He is a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, a retired Naval Officer of twenty-two years, and holds a Doctorate in Business Administration. He grew up in a military family and traveled the world for four decades before settling down in Texas. His wife and four children, two grown and two young, are the inspiration in his life.

Don has been an avid reader and gamer for over four decades with a love for storytelling. The earliest books he remembers reading are the Xanth books by Piers Anthony. He has read many great books by authors of many genres. His two favorite books are The Stand by Stephen King and Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy. He loves the multi-POV style that weaves smaller character threads into larger stories.

His experience and joy in interacting with cultures worldwide have helped strengthen a desire to share stories that engage a broad and diverse audience.
